Green Bay firm implements "Vegemon" ArcGIS application

GREEN BAY WI - WPSR in Green Bay Wisconsin has successfully implemented a large scale GIS for vegetation management. "Vegemon," as it has proudly been coined, is an ArcGIS application developed by the Kenerson Group of Athol, MA and Spacetrack of NY, NY. Based on the VIIMS utility product, the design was based on the basic methodologies of vegetation management and then customized to meet the specific practices if WPSR.

Phase I of the project, which was completed in 2002, included layer development, sensitive customer locating, general locating support, line mile calculations on call, work area locating and the integration of a comprehensive Microsoft Excel data entry and management system.

Phase II of the project being developed for 2003 includes certified ArcGIS training, an ArcIMS viewer to direct contractor work, endangered species location and management integration, extensive reporting capabilities, enhanced map printing and work tracking.

Phase III will include an ArcIMS public viewing system.
